Hologic,
Inc. today announced the launch of its next-generation, FDA approved NovaSure® ADVANCED global endometrial ablation
(GEA) system in the United States.
Hologic,Inc. is a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of premium diagnostic
products, medical imaging systems and surgical products.
NovaSuresystem is designed to ablate the endometrium by applying radiofrequency energy to
the endometrium thereby reducing the Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB). It first received approval from FDA in 2001 and since then nearly 2 million women have been benefited by the procedure of endometrial ablation.
The new
generation comes with smaller 6 mm
Diameter sheath vs. 8 mm to improve patient comfort because of lesser cervical dilatation
required for the procedure.
Additional feature of the updated
device includes an acorn-like shaped cervical seal that creates an increased
sealing surface within the cervical canal and provides 13% more "working
length" than the previous model. It also includes rounded Smooth
Access™ tips to simplify insertion that requires less manipulation and blue handle that serves as a useful reminder for how the device should be
inserted.
The ablation procedure does not lasts more
than 2 minutes.
Dr. Edward Evantash, Medical Director,
Hologic says "The next-generation NovaSure ADVANCED system promises the
same efficacy and safety profile that physicians have trusted for more than 10
years."
The NovaSure ADVANCED system was launched in Europe, Canada and Australia in 2016.

ReplyDeleteNovaSure Facts You Should Know (before undergoing this procedure). Talk with Real Women about the Real Problems about NovaSure. Will Hologic become transparent with their Contraindications? If you call Hologic or NovaSure, the customer service representatives will not answer questions and refer you to their doctors. However, each doctor has his own set of indications and contraindications. What was the FDA thinking when they let this monster out on women all over the world? What isn't your doctor telling you. We already know what Hologic doesn't tell women. The FDA needs to protect women in America. This is a dangerous procedure. This procedure is protected from Class Action Lawsuits. We need a law firm that wants to take on this monster. Just learn the facts. https://www.facebook.com/groups/264368540364822/
ReplyDeleteInstead of spending money, time, and resources on attempting to improve this barbaric procedure, spen that time, money, and resources on trying to ban this. The alleged "success" rates are a made up pipe dream. The manufacturers and the FDA should be ashamed of themselves.
ReplyDeletePlease explain the number of failures with regard to Fibroids, Polyps, Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, Tilted Uterus, Bicornate Uterus, Metal IUDs that act as a conductor of electricity, tubal ligation (Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome) and the increasing number of Post Ablation Syndrome. Since the uterine lining is burned it will not be possible to have a biopsy. Therefore, if uterine cancer runs in your family, there will be no way to test for this. Please review uterine nerve damage occurrence with this procedure. Women should question that statistics provided by NovaSure and Hologic, the parent company. ThermaChoice has been recalled. We can only hope that the FDA wakes up from the drug induced coma they are in. This is a dangerous procedure. This procedure is less costly for insurance companies and National Health Care Systems throughout the world. If a woman states that she has heavy menstrual bleeding, NovaSure is usually recommended based on cost and not the woman's health. Say no to NovaSure. Woman stand up for your health.
ReplyDeleteThere are many stories of novasure failure. It may help some.Alot of ladies end up with hysterectomy anyway.I am experiencing problems 9 years later.See gyno tomorrow. This thing is a monster and you can't file lawsuits.
ReplyDeleteThere are clinical trials being performed with NovaSure and Essure. The FDA is in the business to torture women by allowing manufacturers to put these products in the marketplace. What is worse is that doctors are performing this procedure for issues NovaSure was not designed to do as if it is a cure all. Stop the Madness!
